Tonnau (Waves)

A project reflecting on a year full of waves. 'Tonnau' was selected to be part of the National Eisteddfod of Wales annual Art Exhibition 'Y Lle Celf' and won the Josef Herman People's choice award 2021. For this work Welsh Slate has been Kiln fired and shaped to create curved, wave like forms. The slate is used as shelving to hold ceramic bowls that are glazed to look like sea foam, they also include pieces of Welsh Slate.

Dyma prosiect sy’n myfyrio ar flwyddyn llawn tonnau. Dewiswyd 'Tonnau' i fod yn rhan o Arddangosfa Gelf flynyddol Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru 'Y Lle Celf' ac enillodd wobr dewis Pobl Josef Herman 2021. Am y gwaith hwn mae Llechi Cymreig wedi cael ei danio a'i siapio i greu ffurfiau crwm, tebyg i donnau. . Defnyddir y llechen fel silffoedd i ddal bowlenni cerameg sydd wedi'u gwydro i edrych fel ewyn môr, maent hefyd yn cynnwys darnau o Lechi Cymreig.
